Managed more hours today than any other day. Worked on all 6 pictures for 1.5 hours each. I decided to be more rigorous with the deadlines as time is a-ticking and I needed to get around to all the pictures.
Most pleasing today was Picture 1, which was the least developed yesterday and I was struggling to know how to go forward, but really pushed. The problem was that the collage was very heavy and not working with the picture, and I’d used a purple ink over the dark areas, which had come up a quite a bright colour. So I was radical and obliterated most of the purple and collage with a black / grey acrylic. This simplified things for me and allowed me to go forward on the content, especially the flower stall. It’s still not great but I have a clear direction now. Really just a quarter of the picture unresolved, which is the rest of the market.
Elsewhere, almost finished 2 pictures, Picture 2 and Picture 5. These really are just finishing touches now. Really pleased with the canes on the weavers’ basket, which looks great I think. The final basket I’m going to collage on I think.
Least progressed is Picture 6. Real progress with this, getting paint onto 2/3 of the board, but it’s a huge piece, and it all takes so long.
So tomorrow is D-day. Plan to try and get 2 pictures finished early, to give me momentum. Big challenge with just a day left, but still might just get it done.
